Riverside Medical Center Honored with Mission: Lifeline® Achievement Award

Riverside is recognized by American Heart Association for supporting better outcomes for cardiac patients

KANKAKEE, IL (June 28, 2017) - Riverside Medical Center has received the Mission: Lifeline® NSTEMI Bronze Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association for implementing specific quality improvement measures for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks.

The American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline program's goal is to provide prompt treatment for heart attacks by reducing system barriers from the initial call to 9-1-1 and throughout the hospital's continuum of care for treatment.

"Our partnership with the American Heart Association and the Mission: Lifeline program helps us to fulfill our promise to the community - to provide the best cardiac care in the region. We are pleased to be recognized for this outstanding achievement.""Our team is dedicated to continually improving the access and quality of care for patients who suffer a heart attack," said Kyle Benoit, Vice President of Clinical Services at Riverside Healthcare.

Riverside earned the Mission: Lifeline® NSTEMI Bronze Quality Achievement Award by meeting specific criteria and standards of performance for the quick and appropriate treatment of NSTEMI patients by providing life-saving emergency procedures to re-establish blood flow to blocked arteries. Eligible hospitals must have adhered to these measures at a set level for at least one consecutive 90-day interval, reflecting a significant institutional commitment to the highest quality of care for heart attack patients.
